Am I scared?

I guess I’m used to camping out in tents from when I was younger, and back then I always imagined someone sneaking up to the tent and stabbing it/me with a knife.. somehow I slept through the nights anyways.
I’ve always been scared of burglars too, and I mean scared as in: waking up crying in the middle of the night because I thought burglars were going to come – scared. Thirty years later it still happens; I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and “see” someone hunching over me, my heart will start racing, I’ll start to sweat, my pulse will be through the roof and I’ll punch the air until my head clears and the “people” go away.

Now when I’m in a van I don’t have to be scared about someone stabbing me through the walls since they’re not made of fabric. Burglars can come, but I do have an alarm on my car and I’m never parked all alone. I also have no less then three doors to escape through from the back.
I always have my keys, my charged phone and an alarm spray right by my head.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s ok to be afraid, but if you’re smart about it it’s less likely something would happen and it decreases your stress levels and you will feel fine and not scared.
